It is Naomi Osaka’s turn to top the world tennis game and she has shown this by trashing the world tennis queen, Serena Williams. She is now sealing her place as the trashing queen as she beats Jennifer Brady to win the Australia Open today.
Recall that Serena Williams had, in tears, left her Australian Open press conference after a semi-final loss to Naomi. It was her first defeat in the semi-finals of the Australian Open and she lamented the ‘easy mistakes’ she made during the straight sets defeat. “I don’t know. I’m done”, she said before walking out.
The 23 year old Osaka again beat Jen Brady 6-4 6-3 to win her fourth Grand Slam and her second in Melbourne. She edged the first set when Brady, in her first Grand Slam final, paid for some glaring errors in the final game. The third seed seized control from that point, racing 4-0 ahead in the second set before sealing a deserved victory.
