Naira Scarcity: Protest Erupts In Rivers Over Naira Scarcity

Protest has allegedly broken out in the Diobu and Mile 1 areas of Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

According to the report, banks are being set on fire with people are out on the roads protesting the new naira redesign.

The pictures show banks being set on fire by angry protesters while men are marching on the streets of the state protesting.

Residents living in that area have been advised to stay indoors due to gun shots being heard.

The naira scarcity is creating quite a buzz in the country, as internet banking is equally not going through.

There are report of many tragic cases throughout the country, including a pregnant woman that died in a Kano Hospital.

She died in the Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital over alleged negligence from doctors as a result of the new naira policy crisis. The late woman’s husband, Malam Bello Fancy, said her death was as a result of delay in transfer made to the bank and that the doctors didn’t attend to his wife for more than three hours.
