Naira Scarcity: NLC Directs Workers To Protest At CBN Offices

The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress on Wednesday directed all workers to protest at all the offices of the Central Bank of Nigeria nationwide starting next week over the current cash crunch in the country.

The NLC President, Joe Ajaero, who gave the directive at an ongoing press briefing at Labour House in Abuja, said the directive became imperative following the expiration of a one-week ultimatum given to the apex bank to make cash available for Nigerians.

Meanwhile, the ruling an APC chieftain has come out to explain why the ruling APC cannt afford to sanction the now infamouus CBN Governor.

The scarcity of the new naira notes brought about by the CBN policy had generated tension and visited untold hardship on the masses.

In the last two months, a considerable number of Nigerians have thrown caution to the wind and invaded several banks to register their displeasures in bizarre manners.
