Popular comedian, Bright Okpocha aka Basketmouth has confirmed the separation between himself and his wife, Elsie.
Basketmouth had initial made this announcement in December 2022, when he took to his social media page to declare the 12 years marriage with Elsie is over. Many who found this news too hard to believe dismissed it as a joke.

But while featuring in a recent interview with TV3NewDay, a Ghana television station, Basketmouth confirmed that he has indeed separated from his wife.
He said, “I am separated right now. People thought it was a joke but it wasn’t. Some people were like do you want to promote a show and I was like you definitely do not know my design. I do not bring my personal matter on a public platform but it was something I needed to do and for reasons best known to me.”

Basketmouth recently also announced his plans to leave the comedy stage in the next five years. While been questioned on why he would quit his beloved profession, Basketmout explained that he would like to explore other fields aside comedy.
He mentioned that he doesn’t want to be known only as a comedian.
