The bloody battle between officers of the Nigerian Police force and a gang of hoodlums in Akala Mushin area of Lagos State, claimed another life, as the touts shot a police officer, Sgt Emmanuel Abam, today.
The bloody war reportedly started on Tuesday, when a police team raided a shop on Elegba Street, where some hoodlums sold Indian hemp.
The touts allegedly attacked the policemen with broken bottles and stones in retaliation. The officers, who retreated, reportedly returned with reinforcements and engaged the hoodlums in a gun battle.
The battle has reportedly claimed six lives so far. Hopefully, the crisis will be contained soon, before things get out of hands.
