Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal and Mary Njoku have both reacted to a trending story of a woman whose daughter was raped seeking for help.
The mother took to social media to ask people advise and opinion as to if to get justice for her raped daughter or soak it in, just for the sake of her marriage.
According to her, her husband’s younger brother raped the 5 year-old and she was threatening to call the police and have him arrested.
Her mother-in-law, however, wants her to bury the idea of involving the police, with the explanation that the case is a family one that will be settle traditionally. To make matters worse, her husband is dancing to his family’s tune and asking her to choose between calling the police and her marriage.
Reacting, Moyo Lawal wrote, “Pls what is all this things I see on the internet…. ????God please let me stop seeing evil things about marriage ?…. Mary Njoku, on the other hand, as she showed up in the comment section asking the woman to go ahead. She noted that her marriage is a contract but she will be a mother to her daughter forever. “You will forever be the mother of your daughter. Your marriage is a contract. And you can find love again, with someone who can be a father to your child ( she obviously doesn’t have one) Don’t just call the police, make sure your inlaw rots in Jail for the rest of his miserable life. This will help your daughter heal, that’s if its not late. Hurry Pls. Before thunder will fire you and the useless marriage“, she wrote.
