Movements In Lagos State This Saturday Has Now Been Restricted Till 3:00 PM

The Lagos State Government has announced an extension on the restriction on vehicular movement around the state on July 22 for the Local Government elections. The government has said that the restriction will now be enforced between 7 am and 3 pm on Saturday, July 22, to allow for a smooth conduct of the Local Government elections and unhindered participation.The State’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Steve Ayorinde, said the restriction of movement would allow the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) and the security agencies to distribute electoral materials in good time and ensure a seamless electoral process.He had earlier, on Sunday, said that the restriction of vehicular movement would be between 8a.m and 2pm. Ayorinde had earlier promised that the Lagos State Government and security agencies will ensure a free and fair election and the safety of electoral officials and voters.Photo Credit: Getty
