Morocco 4-0 Nigeria: Home Based Eagles Record Nigeria’s Worst Scoreline In A Tournament Final

The home based super Eagles dramatically turned one of the most anticipated days in the history of Nigerian football to one of the darkest days in Nigeria’s football history, as they were on the receiving end of a 4-0 drubbing by the host nation in the final match of the 2018 African Nations Championship tournament on Sunday.
The goal fest started when Morocco’s Zakaria Hadraf scored just before the break. The story worsened for the Eagles when Nigeria’s Peter Eneji Moses was sent-off for a second yellow card in the 48th minute.
Walid El Karti scored the second goal in the 61st minute before Hadraf recorded a brace for the host shortly after. Ayoub El Kaabi finished off the Eagles with a sublime finisher in the 73rd minute.
