Monday Musings: The Real Challenge of Life Is….Love More, Forgive More, Embrace More, Feel More Intensely

    Must read

Summer is officially over! Yesterday our clocks went back to mark the end of the British Summer Time, with days getting shorter and night setting in earlier. Autumn is a great season, and after the dreariness of winter, it will soon be my favourite session – Spring! But not until we enjoy the changing colours of the leaves, the dry, sunny days and cold, but not freezing, nights of autumn. What is most profound about the seasons is that whilst some love the summer or winter, mother nature makes every thing beautiful in it’s own time. The snows of the winter, the dews of the spring and the scorching sun of the summer, they are just beautiful and glorious. So I chuckle when I heard Onyeka Nwelu say that every celebrity in Nigeria is broke, after all he claims to have seen all the celebrities bank account.Timi Dakolo is quipping with Freeze on marriage and infidelity, Eedris Abdulkarim is bad-mouthing whoever is in his eyesight, Jim Iyke has finally found his voice to comment on his former flame, Rita Dominic.Teebillz, Husspuppi, Peter Okoye, Bobrisky and who knows who have had a filled week spewing ridiculous and making unnecessary statements. On top of all these irrelevancies, Nigerian youths are wondering about jobs, the economy, Buhari’s EFCC, 2019 elections, PDP, electricity, broadband, wedding, family, religion and the society. Too much seems to be happening too fast. And truthfully most of them, as worrying and disheartening they might be are to be taken with humour of how tranquil, mother nature wants things to be. So I lay on my Tempur bed with the wife of my youth and read the amazing words about life, which you too can and should, in your quite moments ponder over.My friend know that this life will go by fast. Enjoy the moment. I look around and see children impatient to be grown, new graduates impatient to be married, newly marrieds frantically searching for that first baby, millionaires chasing the next million and seasoned folk, exhausted just waiting to retire and simply waiting to be called home by their God!So in this rat race we sometimes call life……learn to pause, really consider if the things that you fret about will matter in 5 minutes, 5 days, months or even years! Don’t fight with people, don’t criticise your body too much, don’t complain so much. Don’t lose sleep over your bills. Look for the person that makes you happy. If you make a mistake, let it go and keep seeking your happiness. Never stop being a good parent. Don’t worry so much about buying luxuries and comforts for your home, and don’t kill yourself trying to leave an inheritance for your family. Those benefits should be earned by each person, so don’t dedicate yourself to simply accumulating money at the expense of enjoying each day or in fact moment.Enjoy the little things, travel, enjoy your journeys, see new places, give yourself the pleasures you deserve. Allow dogs to get closer. Don’t put away the fine glassware. Utilize the new dinnerware; don’t save your favourite perfume, use it to go out by yourself; wear out your favorite sport shoes; repeat your favorite clothes. So what? That’s not bad. Why not now? Why not pray now instead of waiting until before you sleep? Why not call now? Why not forgive now? We wait so long for Christmas; for Friday; for Reunions; for another year; for when have money; for love to come; when everything is perfect… look…Everything being perfect doesn’t exist.Human beings can’t accomplish perfection, because it simply was not intended to be completed here on earth. Instead I challenge you to see ‘Here’ as an opportunity to learn. So take this challenge that is life and do it now…Love more, forgive more, embrace more, feel more intensely and leave the rest in mother nature’s hands.Photo Credit: Getty
