The year 2018 seems to usher in a lot of fashion awards and recognition for fashion enthusiasts and icons. Miuccia Bianchi Prada has also not been left out in this recognition as she sets to receive the outstanding achievement Awards at The Fashion Awards 2018 in partnership with Swarovski. Since joining the family business in 1978, The 67 year old Icon has led the expansion of the Prada group from a family business to a global brand and connoisseur. In order to challenge “the traditional, conservative idea of luxury” Miuccia started the now-iconic black nylon backpacks, to which this became the benchmark of what the brand stands for. Since the powerful trend setting bag, she has been known to continue to use her voice to clamour for impactful changes in the fashion industry. Especially for women and men who do not want to follow the norm but wants “to go against the rules, the cliché”. She has also been known to always say that she “hates the idea that you should not wear something just because you’re a certain age”.
