Ex-Exxon Mobil Engineer Bags 15 Years Imprisonment For Raping Niece

A former Exxon Mobil Engineer has bagged 15 years imprisonment for raping his tenant’s 14-year-old niece.

The incidence was said to have taken place on the 4th of January, 2016  at their residence at 25, Samuel Amoore Street, Idowu Estate, Ike-Ira Nla, Ajah, Lagos by 11:30 am, leading to an outrage both in the neighbourhood and on social media.
Onuoha was arraigned in January 2016 at the Magistrates’ Court on a four-count charge of defilement then the case was adjourned to 14th January 14, 2020 then to 25th March for judgment, but could not be settled as COVID-19 arose agaisnt the world.Ex-Exxon Mobil Engineer Bags 15 Years Imprisonment For Raping Niece
On resumption, the convict’s counsel, Dr Victor Olowonla, in his allocutus, pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy as he was a first time offender.

Justice Adedayo Akintoye, however, delivered the judgement yesterday 1st June, accusing Onuoha of committing the alleged offences and sentenced him to 15 years jail term without a fine option.
