Mike Tyson: Floyd Mayweather Is The ‘Greatest Boxer In The Past 100 Years’

Mike Tyson has hailed Floyd Mayweather as the best boxer of the past 100 years ahead of fellow boxing legends like Muhammad Ali.

Future Hall of Famer Mayweather, 43, retired undefeated in 2017 with an unblemished boxing record of 50-0.
And the 43-year-old ex-boxing superstar’s final clash came against Conor McGregor in a blockbuster crossover fight in Las Vegas.

The ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ explained: “Listen, he [McGregor] never really had a boxing match in his life. He went 10 rounds with the greatest fighter in the last hundred years of boxing. He went 10 rounds, scoring punches. Did he accomplish something? Look what he had to fight against, and look at what he did when he fought against him.”

McGregor, 31, has since taken to social media and thanked Tyson for praising him on his performance against Mayweather. But the Irish UFC superstar has also vowed to “crack the puzzle” and “beat” Mayweather in a potential rematch.
“Thank you Mike, and just know that for the inevitable rematch, with the knowledge I now hold of Floyd’s style, plus under the tutelage of my old school boxing coach, I will crack the puzzle, and I will beat Floyd,” McGregor tweeted. “I promise my life on it. It is great to see you back Iron Mike.”

Mayweather announced last year that he would be coming “out of retirement in 2020” as part of a collaboration involving UFC president Dana White. But Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe recently dismissed the idea that ‘Money’ would make a return to professional boxing.Photo Credit: Getty
