“Persons Of Colour Should Play Characters Of Colour” – Mike Henry To Stop Voicing Cleveland Brown In Family Guy

As the black lives matter movement gains more prominence, Family Guy voice actor, Mike Henry, has announced that he will be stepping down from his role as Cleveland Brown, because in his opinion, it is only right that people of color play their own character.

Mike HenryThe 54-year old has been the voice actor for the character of Cleveland Brown, a black actor for over two decades says he will be stepping down from the FOX animated series.

Taking to his Instagram where he disclosed this, Mike Henry wrote, “It’s been an honor to play Cleveland on Family Guy for 20 years. I love this character, but persons of color should play characters of color. Therefore, I will be stepping down from the role.”Family GuyPhoto Credit: Instagram
