Michael Emenalo Appointed Sporting Director At Monaco 21 Days After His Fallout With Chelsea

Few days after Chelsea FC parted ways with Michael Emenalo, Monaco FC have appointed the Nigerian football veteran as its new sporting director.
The former Nigerian international who spent 10 years at Stamford Bridge in various management roles, left Chelsea few weeks ago after he allegedly fell out with Chelsea coach, Antonio Conte and owner, Roman Abramovich.
The 52-year-old Emenalo has now taken up a role with the Ligue 1 champions, where he will directly report to vice-President Vadim Vasilyev.
In his first press interview as Monaco sport director, Emenalo said “This is a wonderful opportunity for me in a high-quality project. AS Monaco has shown great progress for several seasons and I am convinced that the future will be just as ambitious. Vasilyev’s willingness to see me join was decisive and for me, the choice was natural after my decision to leave Chelsea.”
