Huawei founder’s daughter Meng Wanzhou who was arrested in Canada is set to be extradited to the United States. The Huawei chief financial officer was arrested in Vancouver on Saturday, December 1, 2018, for allegedly violating U.S. sanctions against Iran.
Although details of the arrest have not been released, Huawei, however, has been under investigation over possible violation of sanctions against Iran. The U.S has been probing Huawei since at least 2016 for allegedly shipping U.S.-origin products to Iran and other countries in violation of U.S. export and sanctions laws, reports said. Meng is expected to appear for a court hearing this Friday, a Canadian Justice Department spokesman said.
