The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle has opened up on her struggles as a wife, mother, a public figure and the intense media scrutiny.
In a new ITV documentary with Tom Bradby, the mother of one noted that she has not really been OK behind the scenes and it’s been a struggle to cope. Tom had followed Meghan Markle and her husband, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry on their recent 10-day tour of Africa and he got her on the interview. She spoke on how she’s been coping through pregnancy and the early stages of motherhood amid the pressures of press interest in her public life as a member of the Royal Family. When asked how she has been coping, emotional Meghan Markle admitted that the intense spotlight and the incessant and often negative press coverage from some sections of the media about her and her family had made things harder at that time she was really vulnerable. She added that every woman is vulnerable and more vulnerable when they are pregnant.
Tom revealed that Prince Harry had shared his concerns about her with him earlier in the trip, being afraid that she could suffer the same media pressures he believes harmed his mother Diana. “He’s obviously very concerned about protecting you, and protecting you from what he felt his mother went through. It’s obviously an area one has to tiptoe into very gently.“Asking the Duchess the effects of the negativities and pressures on her physical and mental health, she said. “So that was made really challenging and then when you have a newborn … especially as a woman, it’s really, it’s a lot. So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mum or trying to be a newlywed.”

Bradby asked further how she was coping and Meghan dropped a bombshell of how nobody asks her how she has been fairing or coping. Appreciating his concern, she said, “Thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m ok. But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes“, affirming that it’s really been a struggle. See the video below:
