Meghan Markle Made Former Husband Sign ‘Pregnancy Contract’

Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, made her former husband sign a ‘contract’ guaranteeing that he would pay for a personal trainer if she ever became pregnant, according to media reports. The Duchess, 37, also demanded that Trevor Engelson fork out for a nutritionist and nanny after the arrival of their child, it is said. The informal contact – which was not drawn up by lawyers – reportedly came just as Meghan was gaining recognition for her role in TV drama Suits. According to reports, Engelson was given no choice but to sign the document which laid out her rules in the event of her pregnancy. The pair were married in 2011 after dating for a number of years but split up in 2013, citing “irreconcilable differences”.“She knows the heavy-weighted body-type runs in her family and has always been terrified of putting on extra pounds, particularly given her career at the time,” a source said. “Anytime she puts on a bit of weight, it shows on her face, so she wanted to make sure she would be camera-ready very quickly.” Agreements of this nature are commonplace in Los Angeles, but typically revolve around childcare duties and division of household duties. A friend said: “You know what they say – happy wife, happy life. He knew he married someone who was very concerned about her image, and at times very insecure about her body, so he just went along with it.Photo Credit: Getty
