This helped him when he fought on the side of Modakeke during the 1996/97 Ife/Modakeke riot. As his fame grew, he packed up his bags and evacuated the community, leaving people green with envy.

He met politicians who took over leadership from the military with the return of civilian rule in 1999. He worked for a former governor of Osun State and settled in Osogbo for some years.

He then moved on to serve as an independent traditional security coordinator for former governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja during the period of the violent crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 2004 to 2009.

He became one of Ladoja’s most trusted aides at the time. Thus, these exploits increased his popularity in Ibadan and Oyo State.

He began to pick up steam on social media in January 2021 when he gave a seven-day ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen in Ibarapa, Oyo state to vacate the land after he accused them of kidnapping and killing residents of the community.

Igboho led a group of people who chased the herders out of Igangan after the ultimatum had expired. The activist threw out the Fulani leader of Igangan, Salihu Abdukadir from his residence.

He also dared the governor, Seyi Makinde to arrest him after going against the latter’s directive that no one can be evicted from the state.

He labelled the directive as a joke in a video where he spoke to the people of Ibarapa East local government area of Oyo state.

On Tuesday, a video of his house situated at Soka area of Oluloye Local Government Area (LGA) of Oyo State being gutted by fire surfaced online. Igboho expressed his displeasure over the fire incident.Photo Credit: Getty
