Meg Otanwa is a native of Benue state. She holds a B.A English from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, a Masters degree in Human Resources Management from Time University, Tunis, Tunisia, and an MBA Training from the University of Jean Moulin, Lyon, France. 
She worked at African Development Bank in Tunis, Tunisia for several years before returning to Nigeria to pursue a career in acting. She made her career debut in 2011 in the movie “I’ll Take My Chances.”
Meg Otanwa is a polyglot, the actress fluently speaks five languages, which are- English, French, Hausa, Idoma, Spanish and Yoruba-fluently. Her breakout came in 2016 when she starred in the acclaimed series Hush and thriller Derailed. She won the 2017 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards. Meg claims she would never forget the moment because she wasn’t expecting to win.
Meg Otanwa is a lover of heels. Her shoe collection comprises mostly of heels, she said during an interview that she hates flats.
