David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has endeared his name to the heart and mind of millions of Nigerians both home and abroad. His barely a-decade-old entertainment career that sprung to life with his “Dami Duro” single, has now grown to become a well-respected brand in the global music industry.
Davido’s music story started when summoned courage to leave his Business Administration degree in Oakwood University, with the aim of returning to Nigeria to kickoff his music career. As expected, he faced a hard time when he tried to explain his dream to his parents. As a matter of fact, he eventually had to honor his father’s wish by enrolling for a music degree course at Babcock University.
His unique voice and music skills eventually won his father over and Davido rose swiftly to the top of the Nigerian music industry within seven years. He has won a good number of National and international awards over the years. As is stands now, it is literally impossible to create a list of top 5 Nigerian new generation artistes without including our Man Crush today, David “Davido” Adeleke.
