The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town shows kicked off on Friday and Nigerian fashion brand Ituen Basi had it’s most recent collection on the runway for day 1 of the prestigious fashion platform. The designer is known for her use of the popular African print/ankara fabric and this collection is a continuation if the brands known aesthetic.
From layers upon layers of fringe made from different ankara fabrics, to handbags and footwear, the runway lit up with the colourful choice of fabrics that were used in the collection. Make up and accessories were used in the barest minimum to bring the different pieces as the focal point only. Slogan shirts could also be easily spotted among the works that were on display.
