Marcus Rashford Raves About Manchester United Target Jadon Sancho

Marcus Rashford has endorsed Manchester United’s interest in Dortmund star Jadon Sancho by talking up the ability of his England team-mate.

United failed with a move for the 20-year-old last summer, in what was the longest-running saga of the transfer window.

Dortmund demanded £108million for Sancho but United didn’t get close to the Bundesliga club’s valuation and the winger was disappointed that he wasn’t granted his wish of moving to Old Trafford.

Part of the reason Sancho is so keen on a move to the Theatre of Dreams is to link up with Rashford, who is one of his closest friends in the England set-up.

Sancho struck a fantastic free-kick in Dortmund’s 3-0 win against Club Brugge on Tuesday to show further signs that his form is recovering after a poor start to the campaign.

That goal prompted users on social media to claim audiences in England were unaware of just how special Sancho is, given he doesn’t play in the Premier League. The suggestion appeared to irk Gary Lineker, who commented to say he was fully aware of just how good Sancho is.

But it was Rashford’s comment that will catch the eye of United’s support, as the forward commented to say he recognised the winger’s greatness.

Last summer, Rashford was one of the biggest advocates of United’s move for Sancho.

The England forward admitted in an interview that he wanted to play with Sancho at club level and hoped that United would be able to do a deal.

‘It would be good [if Jadon Sancho joined],’ Rashford said.

‘Sancho is a great player. He’s like the new generation player. It’s definitely exciting to watch the player he’s becoming — hopefully we can all play together. That would be good. He [Jadon Sancho] plays off the cuff. He’s imaginative. I think in this generation, they’re the things you need to be world class’.Photo Credit: Getty
