This Manchester United Star Could Be Banned From Football For Match Fixing

Manchester United central midfielder, Ander Herrera might soon be sentenced to a four-year jail term and six-year ban from football over match fixing allegations.
The Spanish midfielder and 35 other players were dragged into the match fixing scandal after an indictment was lodged in Valencia by Spanish state prosecutors relating to a match Herrera played during his short stint with Zaragoza in 2011.
Herrera could be handed a four-year prison sentence and a six-year ban from playing football if he found guilty of the match fixing allegation. Herrera and the Zaragoza team beat Levante 2-1 in the allegedly fixed game that eventually led to the relegation of Deportivo La Coruna.
Herrera denied the allegations when quizzed about it few weeks ago. He said: “As I stated back in 2014 when this issue was raised, I have never had, and never will have, anything to do with manipulating match results. ‘If I am ever called to testify in a judicial hearing, I will be delighted to attend as my conscience is totally clear. ‘I love football and I believe in fair play – both on and off the pitch.’
The trial is scheduled to start at the end of this year or early next year.
