Wayne Rooney used a truly bizarre story to try and motivate his DC United players, by telling them a story about how he has a ‘tiny penis.’
Recently Rooney has been involved in a ‘spat’ with former Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Portugal star having criticised his former friend during the explosive interview that earned him a departure from United.
The five time Ballon d’Or star insinuated, with the help of his interviewer, that Rooney was jealous of the fact that Ronaldo was still playing.
It all seemed to stem from the club’s all time top goalscorer’s comments last summer, when he said United should sell the striker, something the player actually wanted, whilst actually being very complimentary about him.
In light of being called a ‘rat’ by his former colleague, in the now infamous interview, the former Derby County manager was actually very nice about Ronaldo, saying his departure from Old Trafford was a shame.
All of his spat with the 37-year-old may have weirdly come as a relief to Rooney, who is now in charge of MLS side DC United.
It wasn’t an easy start to life back in America for the former England captain, winning just two games since taking over in July.
Looking for ways to motivate his players, the manager reportedly told them a story about overcoming his struggles as a man with a ‘tiny penis.’
According to one source, Rooney used a story about how his small manhood hadn’t stopped him, apparently it didn’t go down too well, and his players didn’t enjoy the story either…
“It was very funny and he hoped using personal references would make it look like the speech was from the heart,” the source told the Sun.
“But the majority of his side were left bemused and struggled to understand what his sex life and size of his manhood had anything to do with what happens on the pitch.
“A few of the young lads were horrified. They don’t share the same British sense of humour.”
