The Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami has urged the Federal High Court in Abuja, to order the resumption of Senator Dino Melaye’s false information trial, which was adjourned indefinitely to enable the Kogi West senator recover from his health problems.

In a letter submitted to the High court on Monday, after the Kogi West senator fully resumed his legislative duties at the Red Chamber, Mr. Malami appealed to the court to resume the case prosecuting Senator Melaye on two counts of deliberately giving false information to the police to frame the Chief of Staff to the Kogi Governor, Mr Edward Onoja David, in an alleged assassination attempt on his (Melaye’s) life.

The case was suspended indefinitely on the 17th of May, due to Senator Melaye’s emotional trauma case. Read a clip of Mr. Malami’s trial below:
My lord, following his removal from the ICU, discharged from the National Hospital, Abuja and his subsequent resumption of duty at the National Assembly precisely on May 30 and 31, we humbly apply for a date for the prosecution to open its case in line with the ruling of this honourable court cited above and hearing notices served accordingly“.
