Tyson Fury has sent a heartfelt message to Deontay Wilder and wished his heavyweight rival a ‘speedy recovery’ following his emphatic victory in Las Vegas.
Fury produced a brilliant performance in the much-anticipated rematch with American fighter Wilder on Saturday night to become the new WBC world heavyweight champion.
The Brit, 31, floored Wilder twice in a stunning display before the towel was thrown in by the American’s corner in the seventh round.
Wilder, who was unbeaten in 43 outings ahead of Saturday’s rematch, was taken to hospital shortly after the defeat as a precaution and Fury has wished him a ‘speedy recovery’ on Instagram.
