Lewis Hamilton To Be Knighted By The Queen On New Year’s Day

British Formula 1 driver and World Champion, Lewis Hamilton is set to be inducted into knighthood in the UK by the Queen, as his name is reportedly on the New Year’s Honours list. Lewis Hamilton

The F1 driver who was recently placed on the ‘Diplomatic and Overseas List’ by the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson so as to enable him to bypass tax concerns, according to the Daily Mail.

Though Lewis Hamilton have accused of living in a tax exile in Monaco, forming thoughts of him getting knighted.

Lewis Hamilton who is already an MBE will be joining the illustrious list of ex-Formula 1 drivers that have been knighted in the past making him the fourth person knighted after, Sir Jack Brabham, Sir Stirling Moss and Sir Jackie Stewart.

Lewis Hamilton who was recently awarded the BBC Sports Personality of the Year for the second time in his career. Lewis who this season equalled Micheal Schumacher’s record of winning the F1 Championship 7-times. And also breaking the German’s record of more podium finishes.

Hamilton has been vocal in the push for diversity in sport and has not hidden his support for the Black Lives Movement.

He recently told BBC Radio 4: “There is no way that I could stay silent. And once I said that to myself, I didn’t hold any fear.

“We can’t let this movement die a quiet death. We have got to keep it alive but I think the curriculums need to shift finally. And my nieces and nephews, I want them to learn about both of their sides.”
