A statement by Okechukwu Isiguzoro, a factional Secretary-General, lamented the involvement of Finland-based Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa in the criminality affecting the Southeast, noting that street urchins and criminals are using the sit-at-home order to cause violence in the Southeast.

The statement reads: “The Southeast region of Nigeria has been plagued by various challenges in recent times, including sit-at-home orders and violent agitations. In response to these issues, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, has issued a challenge to the Southeast governors.

“They have requested a 40-day period to address the situation and put an end to the sit-at-home orders and the violence that has ensued.

“The assertion that the Southeast governors should accept help from Ohanaeze Ndigbo is a call for collaboration and unity. It is essential for everyone involved to set aside personal differences and work towards a common goal—the restoration of peace and stability in the Southeast.
