While his colleague in Rivers State placed a ban on the peaceful #EndSARS protests embarked on by the youths across the country, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has taken a different turn, like another colleague in the South West Seyi Makinde, asking the Police not to disrupt the protests.
In a statement release via his official Twitter handle, Governor Okowa noted that peaceful protests such as the #EndSARS campaign are a necessary part of the democratic process.
Asking that the youths, however, express their grievances calmly and law-abiding, Okowa asked that the Police allow them ezpress themselvess without using brute force on them. “Peaceful protests are a necessary part of the democratic process. As young people across Delta State continue to express their legitimate grievances in this manner, I ask that they remain calm and law-abiding at all times”, he began.
