Former President Goodluck Jonathan has criticised the Nigerian administration, saying the leadership of friends, family and acquaintances, rather than abilities is the reason Nigeria is where it is today.
Jonathan said this at the palace of the Emir of Bauchi today Tuesday, during a one-day working visit, in reaction to the State Governor Bala Mohammed at the official commissioning of the Goodluck Jonathan bypass’s earlier introductory comments.Leadership Of Friends And Family Rather Than Ability Is Nigeria's Problem - JonathanAccording to him, the tradition in Nigeria is that before one can be appointed to an office or given a responsibility, he must know someone at the top, and this he said, is a development he said has taken the country backwards. “Yes, I did not know him when I met him and made him the FCT Minister”, he said, referring to Bala Mohammed.
