The Lagos state government has reacted to a viral video on social media where fuel was given to people as souvenirs. The party which was revealed as the Erelu foundation installation party has gone viral as organizers of the party decided to warm the hearts of their guests as they gave each of them kegs of fuel.

A Twitter user who attended the event and also shared photos and videos from the event assured everyone that it wasn’t groundnut oil but fuel. The Lagos state government has reacted to the video in a statement released by the state Commissioner of Information, Gbenga Omotosho.

“Lagos to probe petrol souvenir at party

The attention of the Lagos State Government has been drawn to a video showing kegs of petrol being handed out as souvenirs at an event Centre in Lagos. The video has gone viral on social media.

There is no doubt that this action is dangerous and can lead to the loss of lives and property. It is blatantly against all safety measures in such places. The Lagos State Government through the Safety Commission is investigating this matter and will ensure that all parties to this reprehensible action are made to account for it.
