Lagos Is A Yoruba Man’s Land Is “Wrong” – Seun Kuti

Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has joined the debate on the ownership of Lagos State.

He said Lagos is neither for Yorubas nor a no man’s land but a European satellite slave port.

There is an ongoing debate on who owns state ahead of the governorship poll on Saturday.

While actor Yul Edochie said the metropolitan city indeed belongs to the Yorubas, the youngest son of the iconic Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, advised people to familiarise themselves with history, insisting many know nothing about Lagos.

KOKO TV had earlier reported that Yul Edochie has asserted that the metropolitan city, centre of excellence belongs to the Yorubas and the notion that it belongs to no one is invalid.

In a post on his Instagram page, he revealed that he had moved to Lagos in 2011, built a home there and has never been treated badly or been prejudiced against by the Yorubas.

He likened making such claim about Anambra state; he said that the state belongs to Igbo and it’s equivalent, Lagos, likewise belongs to the Yorubas.
