Growing up in Ghana, Dorothy had always loved dressing up using her mum’s lipstick and wearing her jewelry, especially her necklaces, bangles and shoes. Her mum was a gifted fashion designer and Dorothy was naturally expected to take after her. Despite being surrounded by fabrics and beautiful garments, sketching designs and making clothes weren’t Dorothy’s thing. Her passion came from thinking of ways to accessorise the clothes after they had been sewn.Dorothy has always got an undying love for styling – particularly accessorising. It was this unending flame that prompted the birth of ‘StyleCheck by Dee’ blog in 2011. Along the way, she completed a course in fashion styling at the University of Arts London and won the BEFFTA Wardrobe Stylist in London in the same year in recognition of her styling work. The vision behind ‘StyleCheck By Dee’ is to leave every single lady regardless of circumstances looking absolutely fabulous without draining their bank accounts. Bargains are one of the favourite words you would find on the blog but it is not about being “cheaply fabulous” but “wow fabulous”. And Dorothy practices what she preaches by always breaking down the prices of all the looks she creates making readers really go “WOW”.
