Kogi Lawmaker Dies In Lagos

The member representing Yagba in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Jimoh Omiata is dead.

Omiata who hailed from Igbagun community in Yagba Local Government of the state was a two-term member of the state House of Assembly, Kogi State and the first person to ever win an election twice to the House from the council area.

A nephew who confirmed his death said the state Lawmaker died in Lagos while recuperating from an undisclosed illness he has been battling for a while.

In other news, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has won the senatorial zone of the ruling APC National Chairman to retire Senator Abdullahi Adamu from active politics in the zone.

The candidate of the party,  Ahmed Wadada, won the Nasarawa South Senatorial election in the just-concluded 2023 general elections in Nasarawa State.

Wadada scored  96,488 votes to defeat the APC candidate, Engineer Ahmed Tukur, to emerge the winner of the Nasarawa South senatorial district election in the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Nasarawa South is the senatorial district of the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the occupant of the Senatorial seat before his emergence as the APC National Chairman.
