Kobe Bryant: New Yorkers Rename Subway Park After NBA Legend

Hours after his death in a helicopter crash, New Yorkers have renamed a popular subway station after NBA Legend Kobe Bryant.
The New York City Subway station complex was known as 42 St-Bryant Park but as a tribute to the popular basketballer, the subway rides had a plaster over the 42-St to have it read Kobe Bryant Park Station. The sign greeted commuters yesterday on the 7 train platform in less than 24 hours after his unexpected death.Kobe Bryant: New Yorkers Rename Subway Park After NBA Legend
As reported by Gothamist, Metropolitan Transportation Authority MTA communications director Tim Minton disclosed that the permanency of the change is still under review and the actions to be taken will be based on New York city transit agency’s decision. “Signs and other visual displays on MTA property are subject to prior approval.

We are reviewing the Bryant Park station postings and will determine appropriate action based on available NYC Transit resources“, Tim reportedly told Gothamist.
However, it seems like the tribute will not be tampered with for several days.Kobe Bryant: New Yorkers Rename Subway Park After NBA LegendPhotos Credit: Gothamist
