American comedian Kevin Hart is reportedly just days away from being released from hospital.
The comedian, 40, has been recovering from back surgery to treat three spinal fractures after his vintage car landed in a ditch in Malibu last Sunday.
The Ride Along actor will be transferred to a physical therapy facility where he’ll be treated for one to two weeks, according to media reports. Sources claimed the comic – who is ‘super eager to get out’ – is already taking short walks but said physical therapy will be more ‘intensive’ at the facility. The Jumanji actor was rushed to hospital last weekend after his Plymouth Barracuda – which he wasn’t driving at the time – careered off the highway and landed 10 feet off the road in a gully.
He had an operation to fuse three fractures to his spine, two of which are in the thoracic section of the spine and the other in the lumbar. Thankfully the procedure was a success and he is expected to make a full recovery as such fractures can often lead to difficulties walking or even partial paralysis of the limbs.
His wife Eniko Parrish, who shares 22-month-old son Kenzo with Kevin, reassured fans that he will be ‘fine’. She explained that Kevin will need to stay in hospital in order to recuperate from the surgery and recover from the stress of the crash.
Kevin had bought his vintage car as a 40th birthday present to himself. Reports claim the car ‘lacked safety features’ that would have prevented such serious injuries.
