Kenzo Collaborates With Akinola Davies And Ruth Ossai For Latest Project

French fashion brand Kenzo has collaborated with Nigerian Director, Akinola Davies and Photographer Ruth Ossai on a project that depicts the Nigerian youths and the rituals and festivities of the East specifically. The shoot pays homage to the indigenous Eastern cultures through some of the costumes used.
The new project in question was shot in Nsukka, one of the Igbo communities in the Eastern part of Nigeria and here’s your first look at the stills from the film which is to be released on the 27th of April, with photos and a video. The project is tagged “Gidi Gidi Bu Ugwu Eze” which means “Unity is strength”.
The models cast are from the schools, churches and markets of Nsukka which is Ossai’s own village, all wearing the designer brand’s Summer 2017 collection. According to Kenzo; The festivities centre around a beauty pageant in which the young women of Nsukka support one another to develop a stage for shining a light on their own approach to beauty and glamour.
