Katsina State Government Lifts Suspension On Church Gathering For Easter

Katsina State Government lifts the suspension imposed on church gatherings within the state, this is coming days after lifting the ban on Muslims Friday prayers at mosques across the state.

This new development was confirmed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Mustapha Inuwa who said the ban was suspended after a meeting between Aminu Masari and some Christian clerics.

Dr Inuwa stated that the government’s suspension of the ban comes after a review of the measures put in place by the state government in it’s bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the state, he went further to urge residents to continue to maintain social distancing and strictly adhere to all rules and regulations provided by health experts.

The statement partly reads;

“Church services should not only be prolonged to discharge the followers within a short period but also to be observed under some stipulated health and security guidelines which after due consultations are agreed to be conducted within one hour.”
