The Kaduna state house of assembly speaker Hon. Aminu Abdullahi Shagali has resigned from his position.
The lawmaker representing  Sabon-Gari Constituency in the Assembly tendered his resignation before commencement of plenary session on Tuesday morning. This reportedly came amid alleged plans by some members of the assembly to impeach him.
The house immediately elected Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani as the new Speaker, while Mukhatar Isa Hazo was elected as a new Deputy Speaker of the house.
