Kebbi State Government has pledged to rehabilitate and treat Jibril Aliyu, the 10-year-old boy who was chained for 2 years by his stepmothers.
A Nigerian tweep Manir Jega had brought the sad story of the boy to the streets of Twitter, calling on the Government for help and justice (read here).
Reacting in a statement published in a series of tweets via the State’s official Twitter handle, the Special Adviser to Gov Atiku Bagudu on Women and Social Development Zahrau Wali promised that the State will bear his full care and ensure that such an angry scenario will not recur again in the State. “Kebbi State Government will totally treat and rehabilitate the teenage boy, Jibril Aliyu chained for two years by his foster mothers and father, in the Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi, according to the Special Adviser to Gov Atiku Bagudu on Women and Social Development @Zahrau_Wali“, the statement began.
