Just In: Police Finally Vacates Akwa Ibom House Of Assembly

After all entrance to the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly were barricaded by the Nigerian Police Force right from Tuesday morning, November 20. The police has vacated the complex following the order of the senate on Thursday, November 22, and by the morning of Friday, November 23, the police trucks and anti-riot barricades that was there were no longer in the premises. In the resolution of the chaos, the senate said that the police only had the right to enforce laws and bring about orders in the country, but not to prevent lawmakers from gaining entry into the complex of the House. Photo Credit: Getty
