Jose Mourinho Will End Up At Real Madrid To Replace Zinedine Zidane – Former Assistant

Jose Mourinho’s former right-hand man believes that the Portuguese manager should replace under-pressure Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.

Mourinho, who spent three years at the Spanish club from 2010-2013, has been out of work since his sacking by Manchester United in December.

Zidane, meanwhile, has found his second spell in charge of the Spanish giants difficult and struggled to recapture the form that saw him lead his side to three Champions League titles in four years.

And Mourinho’s former Madrid assistant, Luis Campos, reckons the Bernabeu giants should turn to a familiar face. In an interview to sports show “El Chiringuito de Jugones” – broadcast by La Sexta in Spain – Campos said: “Real Madrid are a good thing. Jose Mourinho is a good thing. When we mix two good things together you get better results. Real Madrid needs to have the best managers and Mourinho’s CV gives him the right to work in the best clubs.”

The former assistant also spoke about Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe following the striker’s hat-trick in the French club’s 5-0 victory over Club Brugge in the Champions League. And Campos hinted at his move to Madrid, saying: “I think he will end up at Real Madrid. If he wants to be the best player in the world, he has to play for Real Madrid.” And the coach reckons it is only a matter of time before Mbappe plays for a team managed by Mourinho. He concluded: “It is unavoidable that they run into each other.”Photo Credit: Getty
