John Terry Leaves Aston Villa After Play-off Final Defeat

Former Chelsea captain, John George Terry, announced his exit from Aston Villa after just one season with the second division team.

The former Three Lions captain revealed that he is “hurting” after leaving Aston Villa, because they failed to win promotion back to the Premier League.
The 37-year-old central defender, joined Villa on a one-year deal last summer after leaving Chelsea and was appointed captain.
He made 36 appearances for the second division side, last of which came in Saturday’s play-off final loss to Fulham.
Terry said: “I will look back on my time here and think about how close we were to reaching our goal. I have given my everything this year both on and off the pitch and I’m still hurting today that we never managed to get back to the Premier League, where this club 100% belongs.” He is yet to announce if he will hang his boots after his exit from Villa.
