Jadon Sancho Set For Old Tradford As Manchester United Submit Improved Bid

Manchester United’s chances of signing Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho are rated as ’50-50’ according to sources close to the negotiations.

Jason SanchoThe 20-year-old has been the club’s priority transfer target throughout the transfer window but he remains a Dortmund player with just five days left before it shuts.

Sancho is keen on a move to Old Trafford and has already agreed personal terms with the club over a five-year contract.

However, Dortmund are adamant that the winger will not leave the club this deep into the window after United failed to meet their August 10th deadline of paying the club’s £108million asking price.

United, though, feel a deal is still possible and the Times claim that Sancho’s chances of getting his move to Old Trafford are rated as 50-50.

The Red Devils are unwilling to meet Dortmund’s asking price but they’re hopeful that the Bundesliga giants will lower their demands and accept a bid closer to £92m.

The biggest obstacle – other than the price itself – appears to be over the guaranteed amount that Dortmund will receive.

United want to pay a significant portion of the deal through a series of add-ons but Dortmund doubt they will receive the full breadth of the installments as it hinges on the Red Devils continuously qualifying for the Champions League and winning silverware.

Dortmund are therefore seeking a bigger upfront fee and are believed to want around £90m.

With a deal in the balance, United have explored their options and are lining up an alternative move for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.

Despite reports in Spain that a permanent deal is ‘very close’, it’s believed United would prefer to sign the Frenchman on a one-year loan deal.Photo Credit: Getty
