Ivorian Singer, Afro B Drops “Drogba Remix” Featuring Wizkid!

Ivorian singer Afro B has finally released the highly anticipated remix of the hit song “Drogba (Joanna)”, featuring Wizkid.

The London-based artist teamed up with Nigeria’s Wizkid to deliver the powerful track – produced by Team Salut – following the online dance competition “#DrogbaChallenge” that has generated impressions across the world. “Drogba” which is off Afro B’s upcoming “Afrowave 2 mixtape” is a tribute to former Ivorian footballing legend Didier Drogba.

“This song really represents where I come from, Ivory Coast,” Afro B explains. “There’s not many artists or entertainers from Ivory Coast in the UK, so I really wanted to use this song to put the country and culture on the map. I also wanted to bring back the authentic Afrobeats sound and promote the African Diaspora.” Wizkid’s former label mate, Skale recently collaborated with Afro B on “Fast Whine” off his “Mr Love” album.

In June, Afro B tweeted his reaction after listening to Wizkid’s chart-topping single “Soco,” and his response prompted Drogba remix in less than one month after the music star met abroad. “There’s something about @Wizkidayo – Soco that gets you into Shaku Mode automatically,” Afro tweeted, before Wizkid replied, saying: “Send me dat Drogba tune brother! Make I fuck am up!”
