“It’s On Us To End Extreme Poverty” – D’banj Says On Mandela 100

D’banj breaks silence again!

Singer D’banj took to Instagram to post about the Global Citizen Festival which holds on December 2, in honor of former South Africa President Nelson Mandela. “It’s on us to end extreme poverty #GlobalCitizen #SaveTheDate #EndPoverty #Mandela100,” D’banj captioned the concert’s artwork shared on his page. This is the first time D’banj will be posting on the social app since his July 14 appreciation post following the death of his 13-month-old son, Daniel.

BeyonceJay-Z, and Ed Sheeran will headline the special Global Citizen Festival, which will be held at the 94,736 capacity FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mandela died in 2013. Nigerian music stars billed to perform at the concert include D’banj, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, and Femi Kuti.

The Global Citizen’s campaign aims to rally $1 billion in new commitments, with $500 million of that set to impact the lives of 20 million women and girls worldwide. Others performing at the Global Citizen festival include Usher, Eddie Vedder, a joint set from Pharrell Williams and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest and Sho Madjozi. Oprah Winfrey will give a keynote address Mandela’s legacy, and other hosts will include Naomi Campbell and actors Forest Whitaker and Tyler Perry.
