Mother and manager of the Nigerian Grammy award-winning singer, Burna Boy, Bose Ogulu, was recently in a chat with the media personality, Latasha Ngwube, where she spoke a lot about women, her son and being a music manager.
During the chat, Bose Ogulu dished out some hard truth and wise counsel to women as she stressed that it was more important as a woman to be respected than just been liked. She also said that women should ensure that they are competent in a certain thing they choose to do and then once they have achieved that level of competence they should be the loudest voice at it.

Then she said that women should carry themselves the way they want to be treated, saying if you make yourself an object you’ll be treated like one.
In her words
”Carry yourself the way you want to be treated. If you make yourself an object, you’ll be treated like one.
Let people know there is a brain between your ears, when they do, they may be uncomfortable around you, but they will respect you.
It is more important to be respected than liked.
Be competent at what you decide to do.
Learn competence in something, before you do it.
Shut Up, when you don’t know what people are talking about, (* that should be a prerequisite for all twitter users before logging on) have the loudest voice when you do know.”
