It Is Better To Go To A House Of Mourning Than One Of Rejoicing – Lala Akindoju On The Passing Of Tosyn Bucknor

Actress Lala Akindoju has reflected on just fond and close she was with late OAP Tosyn Bucknor. Lala who was one of the attendees of Tosyn’s service of song held yesterday shared some of her thoughts about the late OAP. In her words;  “Since Tosyn’s passing, I have come to understand fully the scripture that says “it is better to go to a house of mourning than a house of rejoicing “- we are forced to deal with the reality of our mortality…our physical bodies are temporary places of habitation. We all need to remember to store eternal treasures, to focus on the things that are permanent and to live a life our creator will be proud of, and most importantly staying rupturable…. Listening to the tributes since TosYn passed, watching her videos, reading her poems, listening to her music- one thing is clear she was passionate and committed to impacting people’s lives, leaving a bit of herself in everyone she met and helping people become better versions of themselves. I don’t know where or how she found the time, but she did it and left a beautiful legacy. Thanks to everyone who responded to a call/message and showed to make last night beautiful. Someone said we had a rally last night…..what a rally it was! TosYn was all over that auditorium ?” For those of us left, we are reminded to live purposefully, to love, to give, to be selfless and to celebrate one another. The biggest lesson I have learnt these past 9 days is to let the people you love KNOW you love them. Tell them, show them, show up, celebrate them, don’t wait till they die. TosYn is home and we say our final goodbyes today. We draw strength from the Holy Spirit as we pray for a double dose of strength and grace for Aurelien, FBO & Iya Bucki. @boyeraure @funkebucknor .”  Photo Credit: Getty
