Internal Investigations Forces Buhari To Cancel Executive Meeting Slated For Today

The weekly Federal Executive Council meeting will not hold today. This was made known by the President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, in the early hours of Wednesday. The reason according is to allow the committee tasked with investigating allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal to present its report to President Buhari. The committee is headed by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.The Investigative Committee will also present its report on the money recovered in a private building in Ikoyi, Lagos State which also involved the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke. Buhari returned to Nigeria on Saturday after spending 103 days in London for medical treatment.The investigation is to discover Lawal’s role in a some contracts on the clearing of grass in the North East by a company linked to him while Oke is being probed for the role of the NIA in the huge funds found in a Lagos home in cash.Photo Credit: Getty
