Alaafin Of Oyo: Incantations, Concoctions And Prayers Do Not Stop Cancer

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Olayiwola Adeyemi lll, has said people should stop being deceived as incantations, concoctions and spiritual prayers are in no way panaceas to cancer.

He made this known while during a courtesy visit of members of the Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) led by wife of the Ondo state governor, Betty Akeredolu in his palace.
The monarch said “No amount of spiritual incantation, concoctions or climbing of prayer mountains that can curb it except periodical medical check-ups and self-examination, which will go a long way in reducing the mortality rate.”

On her part, the Ondo state First lady thanked the Alaafin for his continued support and immense encouragement to the BRECAN group.

She said “With the strong message and consistent one indeed, we will be able to convince our people that breast cancer is not a death sentence.
And with the imperial majesty position, we will use him in breast cancer advocacy in the country.”
The Alaafin reiterated his support to the team and promised to continue his work with the group.
